Over 20 years ago, Kaede筒美 was a landlady at an inn. However, her husband was stolen by the maid, Hikari紅月, and Kaede fled the inn. Hikari, left behind, also lost her husband and had to manage the inn alone. As time passed, when Kaede visited her hometown inn, she found a completely exhausted Hikari there. The two women, who once fought over a man, had, over time, grown weary of life and began to empathize with each other.
